Estimates, not forecasts

Calculators and examples rely on assumptions, such as returns, inflation, tax rates and pension rules. Real outcomes will differ. Past returns do not predict future returns, and investing carries the risk of loss, including the loss of everything you invest. A result that says you could stop working at a given age is an estimate, not a guarantee.

Rules change

Tax, pension, insurance, visa and residency rules differ by canton and by country, depend on your circumstances, and change often. We try to keep figures current and show when they were last reviewed, but they may be incomplete, simplified or out of date. Always check the current rules with the competent authority, your pension fund, your insurer or a licensed adviser before you act.

Moving abroad

Articles about living or retiring abroad are general descriptions. Nothing here is legal, tax or immigration advice for any country. Residency, visa, tax and health-insurance rules depend on your nationality, income and ties, and you must check them with the authorities and a qualified adviser in both countries.
